Most Beyond the Crisis interns work for 3-4 weeks and we will have a special project to complete by the end of that time. The special project will be designed in collaboration with the supervisor during the first few weeks of your internship. The project should represent the values and mission of Beyond the Crisis; this project is one of the many ways you make an impact with our organization. Projects in the past have included outreach to housing community residents struggling with hunger or a program-specific survey or report.
Each summer the Beyond the Crisis program seeks an intern to work 3.5 hours per week. Duties include outreach efforts, farm visits and harvests, collection of local food donations, and donor recognition. A $500.00 stipend is awarded at the successful completion of the Local Food Resources Internship. The intern will gain skills in the areas of program management, building community partnerships, and conducting program outreach.
During your internship, you will gain experience assisting Beyond the Crisis’ clients and partner organizations, working with volunteers and staff, learning about program management and development. To apply, please email a cover letter and resume to our Services Manager at volunteer@beyondthecrisis.org. Letters of recommendation are not required but they can help with your application.
