On Tuesday, September 7th, we were interviewed by Metrowest Daily News. Speaking with reporter Contreras allowed us to tell the story of how we built our organization. During the pandemic, my brother and I wanted to do something to help our community. Although, we both were heavily involved in our individual lives. We wanted to take the time to help people who are less fortunate. “After networking and gaining funding we were able to launch an organization to help with food insecurity in our community,” we told him. We deliver a significant percentage of our food donations to the Catholic Charities of Boston. In the interview, we talked about nonprofit management. In order to manage an organization you need to excel at marketing, grant writing, crowdfunding, and food distribution. Balancing this nonprofit with schoolwork and extracurriculars, while being social teenagers has been challenging; sometimes we may need to make sacrifices. We balance it all because what we’re doing helps to balance other families’ lives. Having interviews like this is a big deal for my brother and me because it showed us that our hard work is being recognized by our community.
